Monkeypox virus: New case of monkeypox surfaced in Israel

  • Digital Desk, Jerusalem. Fourth case of monkeypox has been reported in Israel. This information has been given by the Ministry of Health of Israel. According to the ministry, the infected is a 28-year-old man who recently returned from abroad. A sample was tested at the Israel Institute for Biological Research, where the suspicion of monkeypox was confirmed, Xinhua news agency quoted the ministry as saying. The last three cases of monkeypox have been detected in Israel since May 21, all of whom are men.

    The ministry again called for those who developed fever and blistering rash and had returned from abroad, to be examined by doctors. Monkeypox is common in wild animals such as monkeys and primates and can infect humans as well. Symptoms of the disease include skin rash, fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills and tiredness.
